Terms of Service

Welcome to SafeLoop. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SafeLoop mobile application ("App") operated by SafeLoop ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create a guardian (parent) account.
  • Child accounts may only be created by or with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian.
  • By creating a family group, you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and within your family group.

2. Description of Service

SafeLoop is a family safety application that provides:

  • Real-time GPS location tracking of family members
  • Geofence zone creation and monitoring with arrival/departure alerts
  • SOS emergency alerts
  • Check-in requests and responses
  • Crash detection via motion sensors
  • Speed alerts and movement monitoring
  • Location history and route visualization
  • Push notifications for safety events

IMPORTANT: SafeLoop is a supplemental safety tool and is NOT a substitute for responsible supervision, emergency services (911), or professional safety systems. Always call emergency services in life-threatening situations.

3. Account Registration and Security

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • One person may not maintain multiple accounts.

4. Family Groups and Consent

4.1 Guardian Responsibilities

  • Guardians are responsible for creating and managing family groups.
  • Guardians must obtain appropriate legal consent before adding a child and enabling tracking.
  • Guardians must configure safety features appropriately for each child's age.
  • Guardians must inform children that their location is being monitored.

4.2 Mutual Consent

By using SafeLoop, all family members acknowledge that location data and safety alerts will be shared within the family group as configured by guardians.

5. Subscription Plans and Payment

Plans

  • Free Plan: Basic features at no cost.
  • Standard Plan: $4.99/month per child — up to 5 zones, 3-day history, SOS, tamper detection.
  • Pro Plan: $9.99/month per child — unlimited zones, 7-day history, crash detection, speed alerts, route replay.
  • Free Trial: 7-day trial with full Pro features. No payment required.

Billing

  • All payments are processed through Apple's App Store.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the billing period ends.
  • Manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple per their App Store policies.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use SafeLoop to:

  • Track any person without their knowledge and appropriate legal consent.
  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm any person.
  • Track anyone outside your family or legal authority.
  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or court order.
  • Interfere with the App's infrastructure or other users' access.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or derive the source code of the App.
  • Use the App for any commercial purpose outside family safety.

WARNING: Using location tracking to monitor individuals without proper consent may violate federal and state laws, including anti-stalking statutes. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

  • Location data may not be accurate, complete, or available at all times.
  • Geofence alerts may not trigger in real-time or at all.
  • Crash detection may not detect all impacts and may produce false positives.
  • Push notifications may not be delivered immediately or at all.
  • The App may not function in all geographic locations or network conditions.

SAFELOOP IS NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE. The App does not contact emergency services (911) on your behalf. In any emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.

Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SafeLoop from claims arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, violation of any law, or any unauthorized monitoring of any person.

9. Intellectual Property

The App and all content, features, and branding are owned by SafeLoop. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose.

10. Termination

  • You may terminate your account at any time through the App or by contacting us.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms.
  • Upon termination, data deletion occurs per our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by California law. Legal proceedings shall be brought in Los Angeles County, California.

12. Dispute Resolution

  • Informal Resolution: Contact info@safeloop.co and attempt resolution for 30 days.
  • Binding Arbitration: Administered by AAA under Consumer Arbitration Rules in Los Angeles, CA.
  • Class Action Waiver: Claims may only be brought individually, not as class actions.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time with notice through the App or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
