Delete Your Account

SafeLoop allows you to delete your account and all associated data directly from the app. This page explains how to request account deletion and what happens to your data.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account from within the SafeLoop app by following these steps:

  1. Open the SafeLoop app on your device.
  2. Go to Settings (tap the gear icon).
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page.
  4. Tap the "Delete Account" button.
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Your account and data will be scheduled for deletion immediately after confirmation.

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Account information — name, email address, password, date of birth, and profile photo.
  • Family group data — family name, invite codes, and your membership in any family groups.
  • Location history — all stored GPS location data.
  • Geofence zones — any zones you created or were assigned to.
  • Alerts and notifications — SOS alerts, check-in history, and notification records.
  • Device information — battery level, GPS status, and motion sensor data.
  • Push notification tokens — device identifiers for delivering notifications.

Data Retention After Deletion

After you confirm account deletion:

  • Your account data is fully deleted within 30 days.
  • Location history is deleted within 7 days (or sooner, based on your plan's retention period).
  • Alert records are deleted within 90 days.

We may retain certain data beyond these periods only if required by law or to resolve disputes.

Important Notes

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • If you are a parent/guardian, deleting your account will remove your access to your family group. Other family members will not be affected, but any zones or settings you created may be removed.
  • If you have an active subscription, please cancel it through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store before deleting your account. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription.
